Preity Zinta Reacts To Query On Filing Defamation Case Against Rahul Gandhi After Kerala Congress Remark

The Congress party accused Preity Zinta of receiving a Rs 18 crore loan waiver from the BJP, which sparked a political backlash against her. According to the Kerala Congress, the BJP is in charge of her social media accounts. A fan questioned whether she would sue Rahul Gandhi for defamation after he denied these allegations.

Replying to the query, Preity maintained a neutral stance, stating, “I don’t think it’s fair to vilify anyone like that, as he is not responsible for someone else’s actions. I believe in handling problems or issues directly & not through proxy battles. I also have no problem with Rahul Gandhi, so let him live in peace & I will live in peace too.”

Here’s How It All Happened

Preity Zinta was accused by the Kerala Congress of allowing the BJP access to her social media accounts in exchange for a loan forgiveness. They claimed that depositors suffered when the bank failed. “I manage my own accounts and repaid the loan years ago,” the actress denied.

In response, Zinta slammed the party for spreading misinformation and wrote, “No, I operate my social media accounts myself, and shame on you for promoting FAKE NEWS! No one wrote off anything or any loan for me. I’m shocked that a political party or their representative is promoting fake news & indulging in vile gossip & click baits using my name & images.”

She further added, “For the record, a loan was taken and FULLY PAID BACK – over 10 years ago. Hope this clarifies and helps so there are no misunderstandings in the future.”
